I asked this horary question on December 3, 2011. I posted an interpretation of the horary chart for the question a year or two ago on another blog (the blog and the post are gone now). Since that time I have had quite a bit of practice using horary charts for locating places as I created horary charts often during my recent search for a new place to live. While sorting papers, I found my notes for the Atlantis question and thought I would do another post intrepreting the chart. Somehow it seems relevant now.
The specific question I asked was, “Where is the lost city of Atlantis.” The chart for the question is below.
The Moon in this chart is void of course; however, it makes an aspect within 3° of entering the next sign, which means the chart can be read. The Moon is the representative of lost things according to William Lilly.
The first aspect in the new sign is a conjunction with Uranus. If the Moon applies to the ruler of the Ascendant, 12th house, or “Lord of the house of the Moon,” the thing will be found again. Uranus rules the house where the Moon is located, indicating that Atlantis will be found again.
According to Lily, the location of the thing is shown by the nature of the Moon’s sign, Pisces. The direction for Pisces is North by West. This suggests Atlantis is North of Chicago and 10° West of North. Pisces is a water sign; the city is near water. Curious!
My question assumes that Atlantis existed. If Neptune was in the first house of this chart, it would be a reason for doubt of its existence. The Moon IS in the sign Neptune rules (Pisces). However, Neptune is applying to a sextile and trine aspect, which is not a signal for doubt.
I asked about the lost city of Atlantis, not the continent Atlantis. Plato referred to Atlantis as an island and a continent. Only one city in the world is named Atlantis and it is southeast of Chicago, in Florida. What ‘lost city of Atlantis‘ can be found North by West of Chicago and exactly where?
