3D PRINTING

In the web comic, Akyla used a 3D printer to make her Mars globe. I made a small Mars globe in real life (link to my globe). I feel that learning about 3D printing is a gateway to interest in technology and engineering; at least it was for me. I think that 3D printing at home has a bright future if precautions are taken. I learned about the emission of nano particles from 3D printers earlier this year. I stopped printing until I was able to buy a nano particle filter. It was an unexpected additional cost, however I will not print without it as my machine is in a poorly ventilated space. This information is not widely disseminated, therefore I wrote a post about it and created a chart of nano air purifiers (see below). If you are aware of a purifier that is not on the list, please let me know.
